Soundskills is a Creative Community Centre in the middle of the Brookfield estate in Preston. It is run by a charity called Brookfield Spaceplace 1084435, made up of local people and local project representatives. Please note that the charity recently upgraded to a CIO registered number 1158546.
The aim of the building is to create a sustainable, independent centre that is run by local people to improve the quality of life of people on the estate and we have been in operation since 1999.
Creative activity is the vehicle by which we engage people and try to develop their confidence and skillset.
Day to day operations are coordinated by 2 self employed creative practitioners.
Liam Blake (BLKY) coordinates the music based provision from the Soundskills Studio.
Chris Davis (alison) coordinates the art based provision from the Soundskills Centre.
Our crucial volunteers enable self help groups to improve peoples lives.
